General

Dr. Yan has done plenty of research, focusing on ultrasound molecular imaging and ultrasound-assisted drug delivery. He developed a novel flow-focusing microfluidic device to produce monodisperse microbubbles with precisely controlled diameters in real-time. Based on this system, a series of highly sensitive ultrasound imaging probes were fabricated. The remarkable ultrasound molecular imaging effects were acquired in the early detection of vascular inflammation, tumor angiogenesis when these targeted probes were applied. By taking advantage of the function of microbubbles as carriers which can control drug release under ultrasound irradiation, the proposer designed and fabricated the drug-loaded liposome-microbubble complexes. The drug efficacy against tumor growth was enhanced when combined with ultrasound irradiation. A faster drug transport was clarified and its corresponding mechanisms were revealed. All of these researches provided a new idea or tool to promote the integrative clinical application of diagnosis and treatment. In recent years, the proposer has published 47 peer-reviewed international journal papers, including Theranostics, J Controlled Release, et al. He has applied for 8 chinese invention patents4 patents were licensed).
