He mainly researches on the technology and application of biomass conversion and utilization. Through the degradation or modification of polysaccharide biomass such as cellulose, lignin, hemicellulose, starch and plant straw, it expected to achieve the conversion of biomass to practical renewable materials, energy, food and other raw materials. The specific research fields aspects is as follows: 1) Technology and application of cellulose hydrolysis to sugar with efficiency, 2) Technology and application of the modification of CO₂ esterification on cellulose, 3) new materials technology and application of functional biomass, 4) principle and technology of catalytic hydrolysis of hemicellulose in low acidic environment, 5) technology and application of natural biomass / cellulose / lignin based composite material high performances.
