主要研究全球变化背景下生态系统对环境变化的响应与适应,从植物个体、进化类群、森林群落到生态系统不同尺度水平,系统地开展功能性状与植物应对全球变化的生理生态学机理方面的研究,为退化生态系统植被恢复与重建提供理论依据。
