主要从事经济地理、城市地理、空间社会计算、应用网络科学等方面的研究工作。以经济空间复杂性为研究对象，致力于综合应用复杂/社会网络、空间分析/统计、地理计算等方法，探索从流和网络视角考察经济地理空间演化格局、过程与机制，促进对社会经济复杂系统的理解和认知。
