Research Areas

My research areas are to carry on theories and technologies ofex situconservation and re-introduction of rare and endangered orchids. I mainlyfocus on integrated conservation in five fields as follow:

        1.Orchids biodiversity: taxonomy, systematics and evolution;

        2.Germplasm preservation;

3.Seed germination: symbiotic germination and asymbiotic germination;

4.Reintroduction and transplantation-assisted for endangered orchids.

Research Interests

My research is emphasis on orchids protection and restoration techniques, including Ex situ conservation and gene bank, and research about orchid diversity and conservation.  I construct the germplasm bank of wild orchids, including collections of living individuals, specimens, DNA material, seeds, pollinium, fixed flower. I study the research of orchid diversity and conservation, such as orchids database, DNA barcoding and population genetics of endangered orchids, the diversity of orchid pollinia, breeding system, the diversity of orchid seed, seed germination with fungi.
