Research Areas

Mainly engaged in research related to land use change and natural resource assessment, with research interests including:

(1) Remote sensing detection and spatial simulation of land use change

Aiming at the core scientific problems in the field of land use change, based on the theories of geography, ecology, economics and other related disciplines, and comprehensively using satellite remote sensing data with different time, space and spectral resolution at home and abroad, the key information such as land use type, quality and use intensity is detected. Through GIS spatial analysis, field survey, model simulation and other methods, the temporal and spatial patterns of regional land use change are studied. The driving mechanism and constraint factors, the resource, environmental, and ecological effects of land use change and its impact on human well-being are explored by my team. 

(2) Comprehensive assessment of regional natural resources and ecosystems

To meet the needs of national and local ecological civilization construction, we will provide sci-tech support to "the Belt and Road" initiative, carry out a comprehensive assessment of water resources, land resources, biological resources, energy and mineral resources in typical regions, as well as the supply function, regulation function, culture and support function of the ecosystem. We also provide a comprehensive assessment for  land spatial planning, early warning of resource and environmental carrying capacity, carbon peak and new energy layout, carbon neutrality and carbon sink ecological construction. And provide decision support for major resources and environment and ecological engineering, natural capital assessment and ecological compensation, resource conservation and intensive utilization, etc.
