1、The development of multi-scale simulation method
With the aid of GPU parallel computation techniques, we developed the molecular dynamics, dissipative particle dynamics and Brownian dynamics simulation methods for complex polymer systems. Moreover, we proposed a multi-scale simulation method by combining the lattice Boltzmann method and molecular dynamics simulation method.

2、The structure and dynamics of polymer systems
We investigate the structure and dynamics of single chain with different topological structures by using molecular dynamics simulation and we obtain the effect of chain architecture on the radius of gyration and the diffusion behavior of polymer. We also obtain the relationship between structure and mechanical properties of polymer gel and then we can distinguish the structural gel and mechanical gel.

3、The properties of colloidal glass and colloidal crystal
Colloids can be transformed into a glassy amorphous state or a crystalline state. we developed molecular dynamics and dissipative particle dynamics simulation method and explored self-assembly, crystallization and glass transition in typical colloidal systems, including hard sphere, soft particles and soft Janus particles, with the aim of better understanding phase transitions in condensed matter and providing reliable guidance for the design of colloidal materials. 

4、Structure and mechanical properties of polymer composites
We focus on the structure and rheological property of nanoparticle/PDMS mixtures, and we find the molecular weight of PDMS plays a key role on the structure and normal stress difference of the composites. When the molecular weight of PDMS is lower than the critical value, the dispersion degree is worse than that with higher molecular weight, and the negative normal stress differences are observed, which may result from the vorticity alignment of nanoparticles.
