Research

Overall, we are interested in the structure/function relationship of transmembrane proteins, particularly in retinal-binding proteins. There are three major projects undergoing as below.

1.Structural studies of leptosphaeria rhodopsin, proteorhodopsin, bacteriorhodopsin, and channelrhodopsin by crystallography and electron paramagnetic resonance

2.Ion transport mechanism in retinal-binding proteins by time resolved absorption and photocurrent analysis

3.Functional implications of retinal-binding proteins in  biosensor and biomaterial fields
