Prof. Dr. Xiaoyuan Yan
Biography
Xiaoyuan Yan is a professor of Soil Science and Environmental Science in the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a senior researcher in the Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research focuses are soil carbon and nitrogen dynamics in plant-soil systems and greenhouse gas emission from agriculture. He has published more than 70 internationally peer reviewed journal papers, with more than 2200 citations and an H-index of 25. He is also a contributing author of 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories. Prof. Yan is a member of the AGU-Technical Committee on Soil Systems and Critical Zone Processes, a member of the Editorial Board of the Soil Science and Plant Nutrition, associate editor-in-chief of the Chinese Journal of Agricultural Resources and Environment, director of East Asia Center of International Nitrogen Initiative.

Impacts of human activities on soil nitrogen and carbon biogeochemistry cycle; greenhouse gas emission; atmospheric nitrogen deposition; assessment and controls on point and non-point nitrogen pollutions and environmental management.
