Research Areas

My laboratory studies innate immune response to pathogen infections. We aim at determination of new regulatory genes involved in type I interferon signaling pathway and the conserved anti-macriobial peptides pathway in Drosophila. We also study how innate inflammatory response to acute viral infections is regulated by adaptive cells. We have been able to identify both host factors and viral proteins that determine the innate signaling, and the new viral strategies to evade the innate immunity. We have also discovered that T cells possess innate cell-like function that is required for the either initiation or inhibition of innate inflammation. The work has been published in Nature Medicine, Nature Immunology, Cell Research, PNAS and J Immunology.
