1982年9月—1987年7月，清华大学自动化系自动化仪表专业，获工学学士。

1987年9月—1990年7月，中国科学院上海光学精密机械研究所，光学信息处理专业，获工学硕士。

1997年9月—2000年7月，中国科学院自动化研究所，模式识别国家重点实验室，模式识别与智能控制专业，获工学博士。

2000年7月 - 2001年12月，博士后工作于美国那南加州大学计算机系。
2005年、2006年、2007年和2008年分别在法国国立高等通信学院（ENST）、里昂法国中央理工大学和法国国立信息、自动化和应用数学研究院（INRIA）、法国里尔一大从事短期的高级访问研究。

1990年7月 - 1997年8月，工作于江苏常州工学院电气工程系和应用技术研究所。
2000年7月 - 2001年12月，博士后工作于美国那南加州大学计算机系。
2001年12月 - 至今，工作于中科院自动化所模式识别国家重点实验室、中法联合实验室。 

目前的主要研究方向为：计算机视觉、图像处理、机器学习等。
