Dr. Baoqing Shan is a professor at the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences(RCEES), Chinese Academy of Science(CAS). He is the deputy director of State Key Laboratory of Environmental Aquatic Chemistry and leader of river group of the Major Science and Technology Program for Water Pollution Control and Treatment. In recent five years, he has in charge of more than ten national research tasks such as the Hai River project in Major Science and Technology Program for Water Pollution Control and Treatment, Key Project of Chinese National Programs for Fundamental Research and Development (973 Program), National Key Technology Support Program, etc. He has published over 200 papers (more than 60 SCI papers), 2 books , declared 25 patents. And accomplished many river improvement plans and wetland ecological engineering, such as Qilihai Wetland Project in Tianjin, Implementation plan of Black and Odorous Water Treatment Engineering in Dongxinkai River, Changchun.

 Research direction: (1) migration and transformation of nutrient such as N and P in the multi-interface of watershed; (2) control technology of river pollution

1. Process and mechanism of intercept, sedimentation and clarification of pollutants by land-lake ecotone;

2. Transforming process and aquatic ecological effect of nutrients at sediment-water interface;

3. Pollution process and treatment scheme of river;

4. Building technology and engineering practice of large-scale simulation systems of natural wetland.
